Christmas 08' and Santa visit

Well we went to see my side of the family in TN for Christmas. It was a very nice trip. When we arrived (after a 4 hour delay with two babies! another story) around 11:30pm, dad greeted us with a warm hug and smile and we went to go get our luggage, to find that they lost Ford's bag. LUCKILY he is very low maintenance and his Papa bought him some very cute outfits! He bought him the outfit he wore when seeing Santa for the first time at the Nashville Bass Pro Shop. Ford did wonderfully. He sat in his arms with no problems.
Ford was able to meet a lot the family for the first time. My cousins from Arkansas came up to meet him, Ashley and Charles and their son Cash. Then my Indiana Family came down to see him, Great Grandma Nester, Uncle Danny, Aunts Patty and Jackie and cousins Hailey and Josh and Laura. It was pretty fun seeing everyone. We had a full house. Ford got some belly time on Friday and Corona the dog was very protective of him.

Christmas morning was so nice. The kids opened their presents, and Ford had some very cool gifts. His papa got him a 2008 Mustang FORD action car. Very appropriate. The year he is born and his name too. He also got a ton of stuff, including some great books to play with and his first T-Ball set for infants! He's on his way to LOVING baseball, whether he knows it or not, ha.
We had a great time. It was nice to see everyone and went way too fast. Ford slept a lot but also was held a lot by his papa, aunts and relatives.
When we came home, arrive back at the house around 11:00pm the kids went right to sleep. We went to church to hear Brad preach in the main service for the first time. He did wonderfully! Ford began to cry right after Brad's sermon ended. He missed hearing his daddy's voice. Then we went out to lunch and back to the house for Christmas with Big Pop and G-ma. Ford was spoiled of course, he got many toys and outfits, and also got a 2008 Ford Truck from his Big Pop! I guess Great minds think a like!
He also got some great gifts from his Aunt Michelle and Uncle Matt (who are expecting another blessing in June!)! Thank you all!
Ford has really started to jabber away. He loves making eye contact and smiling and talking with people. Here is some video of him and Grandma!

Best role ever...

Ford was chosen to play Jesus today at our Christmas Service at church! Well, chosen by me and then I asked if he could play the part and they obliged! ha. He did wonderfully! He slept in 'Mary's' arms the entire time. Not one peep. I just wanted to show everyone some pictures of this big day before we are off to TN for Christmas. Love y'all!

P.S. Here is a video of Ford (keep in mind still only 2 months old...) on his belly doing 'belly time' and then rolling himself over. SO CUTE, and I finally caught in on film. It's kind of long but watch until the end and you will see him role. He's been rolling since 4 weeks old! CRAZY STRONG!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!(I'll try the video again...it won't post.)

2 month Check up

Ford had his 2 month check up on Tuesday. The Dr said he looks great! Here are the stats:
  1. 14 1/2 lbs = 97%
  2. 41cm Head = 75%
  3. 25.25 inches = 97%
He grew 3 inches since his last check up! He continues to do wonderfully. Last night was a FABULOUS sleep night! He went to bed at 8:30pm and woke at 2 to eat and then back to sleep until 5am and then woke to eat and then asleep again until 8:30am and he is currently just now waking up around 9:30am!
He has started to really suck on his hands. I don't know if that is helping him at night or not...but I'm hoping he doesn't start to suck on his thumb. He also is loving to talk. But he keeps pretty quite unless someone talks to him, then he livens up and chatters away...seems like a guy thing. ha. He is also drooling a ton! I'm not sure if he could be teething, I don't think he is, but Brad does...so only time will tell. Well we are getting ready for our trip to TN. Very excited, a lot of my family are coming to my dad's house to meet Ford for the first time. He's also meeting his aunt Sarah for the first time as well! We can't wait. Pray for his ears on the flight please, and for traveling mercies. Love you all! MERRY CHRISTMAS! Ford is such a great gift, I'm so thankful! Love y'all!

FIngers

Ford has found his hands. He loves to suck on them. He even got his fingers in his mouth today and sucked since Annabell stole and hid his binki in the car and we didn't have one in church. He is such a sweet baby and LOVES to cuddle...even more then Annabell did. He's my little man. Well just wanted to put that down to remember. Love y'all!

Pushing with his toes

Ford got to watch his first Dolphins game in uniform with Big Pop last Sunday. We were given a great uniform for Ford to wear while Big Pop and him watched the Dolphins play. For those who don't know, Brad was born in Miami so it's naturally their football team. It is a 3-6 month outfit but it looks a little small so we went ahead and put it on him, good thing too, because it fit just right. I always think things look too big for Ford but then I put them on him and they fit just right. He's our big boy. His toes are nearly to the end of his car seat already (when stretched out).
Ford had been sleeping great but last night was a rough one. He was up around 1:50 (which he normally sleeps until 3:30-4am before his first feeding) and wouldn't go back to sleep for about 30 minutes which he normally goes right down. So waking up this morning was tough, especially since it's so dark because of the rain today.

Ford was having his belly time this morning and was fussing a little while I was in the kitchen feeding Annabell breakfast. All of a sudden he stopped fussing so I went to see why. He had pushed himself so far forward that he was sleeping on his forehead! ha. He is our strong boy! Ford is talking a ton, saying 'ooohhh' a lot. He also is smiling more and more which I love to see. Well there will be more later! Love y'all
P.S. He had his first babysitter with bottle experience on my birthday...G-ma watched him and he did wonderfully. Took the bottle great too.

Bottle

(Ford is starting to talk a lot and smile when he makes eye contact...i love him!)

"Bubi", that is pretty much the name he goes by in this house hold. Well, bubi is getting sooo big! I can't believe how big he is getting, but he's still tiny in my eyes. He will always be my little boy. I was thinking that one day I won't be the woman in his life anymore...his wife will be...his little hands that are wrapped around my finger will be around his wife's hands...that is a thought that never crossed my mind with Annabell, because she will always be my little girl, even when married, but Brad said he feels the same way with Annabell. A perspective I never had until I had a son. Well we went to the mall yesterday to do some Christmas shopping and saw Santa with NO line at all. And me being the dope that I am, TOTALLY FORGOT to get Ford's first Santa pictures. I thought to myself, Annabell already had her first and kept going...UGH! I felt horrible. So we are going to take the kids when we go to Nashville for Christmas, it should be fun. That way we can also get a picture with all of papa's grand kids together.
Well we gave Ford his first bottle the other night. I have been storing up milk which will go bad before I use it (probably) so we went ahead and gave him a bottle. He was not the biggest fan of it, but I now know he can take one if he needs it and won't starve! That is good to know. Brad LOVES giving bottles, he loves feeling that feeling of nourishing his baby. Moms are so blessed to be able to do that from their bodies, it's truly amazing to me! I love the bond that is established between mother and child.

Ford has also been sleeping great. He sleeps for about 6 hours straight at night and wakes up around 3-4 and even sometimes 5 and then wakes every two hours on from there. Last night he went to sleep at 7-10pm woke and ate, and then went back to sleep until 3:30. That was nice. I have even woken up on my own around 3 thinking, why hasn't he woken up yet. I feel very rested those days! Well I'm hoping to take the kids to the park this afternoon. So I better get some chores done! Love y'all!

Eye Contact

Ford had a great first thanksgiving. He walked the 5k Turkey Trot at 6 weeks old, I'm so proud, he-he. He also did great considering I ate a delicious German Cholcolate cake with TONS of Chocolate on it, which I don't usually do considering I'm nursing. But he didn't seemed bothered, he even slept for 4 hours straight last night which was nice. We slept in until 11am this morning, Ford and I. Annabell stayed with her G-ma so we were able to sleep in, he woke for food and went back to sleep fairly fast...with me encouraging him to sleep so I could too!
Ford's eye contact has really taken off! He now looks around at people and smiles and coos a ton! Here is a video of him playing in his bouncy seat on Thanksgiving. It is the first time that he has recognized the animals on the seat and began to play with them! I was happy to catch it on video. He also has now met 3 out of 4 of his great grandmothers, what a blessing to have them in his life! He met Grandma Z yesterday and cuddled with her for a while. Now he just needs to meet Grandma Nester and hopefully we'll see her at Christmas time!

Baby Dedication and Smiles

Two nights ago Ford and I were hanging out while his daddy was working on some equipment outside. He was wide awake and very observant. I began to talk to him and he started to coo back. So I started to smile and say "HI" in a really high pitched voice and he began to smile so big and sigh and coo that sounded like laughing with out the chuckle. It lasted for about an entire minute. I was so excited to see him look me in the eyes and smile. It's a wonderful feeling when he starts to realize that I am there and gives me the confirmation that he knows I'm there.
I love his big cheeks! That is one trait I think all my children will have. He also has dimples on both sides but a stronger one on the left (when looking at him). His eyes are becoming a little lighter blue now. The gray is starting to fade a away, but his eyes are a much deeper blue then Annabell's. Very handsome.
I took the kids out for our morning walk and then to the park to play. As I was getting Ford out of his stroller and into his carrier a lady said "aw how cute, is he about 3 months?" I began to tell her he is 6 weeks and I accidentally said "6 months" and she was sure he was! I corrected myself and said "6 weeks" and she said "WOW he is big". He really is too, so alert and strong! He is wearing anywhere from 0-3 months to 3-6 months. 3 months seems to fit him the best though. He also has started to recognize Annabell's voice which is adorable. When she wakes in the morning he is usually making some noise while he plays by himself but as soon as he hears her he perks up, eyes wide open, and sometimes even smiles. I'm excited for them to become friends!
Well on Sunday we had baby dedication day, and we dedicated Ford to the Lord and ourselves to raising him to know the Lord. It felt good to do! Here are some pictures. (They are really Dark) His cousin Briana also was dedicated. Love y'all!

Eating

Ford has had a difficult time eating lately. It seems to be only when he's not super hungry, but he swallows a ton of air. His belly starts hurting so bad but he tries to continue to eat while crying. When he is really hungry he doesn't have this problem. So I tried to space his feedings a bit more and it seems to help.
It was quite cold today so I got him all dressed in some winter clothes...little boy clothes are so cute! His big sister was taking a lot of interest in him this morning while he was in his chair, as you can see. She is protective and loves when he looks at her. Very cute.
He had shoes on for about 2 seconds today before he kicked one off. He is so active, my friend Wheetay commented on how awake he was for a new born. He seems to love to look around. Well here are some pictures. Love y'all!

Big boy

I love his big eyes!

Ford is such a big boy! Today was a cold day, so I had to dress him warm, when looking for an outfit I found 3 month clothes that were perfect on him! Maybe a hair big but not by much, and he's only 5 weeks old! He also eats a TON! Today we went to the park for our churches annual picnic. It was cold and windy so he was bundled up pretty well. He also got some time in with his Big Pop while G-ma and I went to the store to grab lunch.
They were watching football together, well Ford was sleeping most of the time. He sleeps great still! Wakes once around 11pm, 2am, 5am and then he's up at 7am. I'm going to start to try and give him a huge feeding around 11 and hopefully he'll sleep a bit longer. Well here are some pictures...oh and to all that live here in Cape, we are doing his baby dedication day this coming Sunday at our church, PLEASE COME. It is the day we have set aside to dedicate ourselves to raising him to know the Lord. It's a wonderful day! Well I love y'all!
P.S. I now use his front carrier....love it, and he is starting to like it as well...at first not so much but once he learned he could relax in it and sleep he grew to love it. Oh and here is a little video of the kids just hanging around the house.
